Disability Support Worker – Spanish Speaking

Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to support an adult male participant in Greenslopes, QLD, who is living with a Traumatic Brain Injury. Our participant is focused on capacity building and improving his independence.

Support requirements adapt to the weekly appointment schedule but shifts generally fall across weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 2-6 hours in duration.

Our participant is kind and friendly, with a great sense of humour. He is in his mid-30's and enjoys playing guitar, reading, exercising, cooking and eating desserts.

Part-time hours are available for suitable applicants. Successful candidates will also be provided with training.

Pay Rates:

• Day shift $42.50 per hour
• Public Holiday shift $93.50

Key responsibilities include:

• Prompting and general assistance with daily living tasks
• Assistance with Personal Care, such as personal hygiene, dressing, bathing & grooming
• Meal preparation
• Assistance with domestic tasks including laundry, cleaning & general tidying
• Support and transportation with community access and rehabilitation exercises
• Helping establish structure, encourage independence, and promote safe engagement in day-to-day activities

Skills & Experiences:

• Must speak Spanish
• Australian Driver Licence & reliable transportation
• Current National Police Clearance
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• A minimum of 6 months of experience as a support worker, or relevant experience in a similar role
• Have excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference
