Field Officer - Apprentices & Trades

The Role

FHR currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Officer to join our internal Group Training team, with a strong history in the Electrical & Plumbing fields. You will be working to mentor, train, recruit and support our apprentices & trades staff.

Our host employers are based all across Melbourne within both the commercial and residential space.

This is a Full-Time role based out of our Head Office in Blackburn, Melbourne, reporting into the Field Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentoring - helping to assist with all aspects of their employment
  • Assisting recruiting, interviewing and hiring
  • Performance management of apprentices
  • Hosting and participating of events and expo's
  • Making strong relationships with apprentices and host employers
  • Ensuring all relevant safety policies and procedures are being carried out by hosts, apprentices and trades
  • Understanding commercial aspects of the business
  • Ability to help grow business when required

Skills & Experience

  • Leadership, coaching, mentoring skills highly regarded
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst being able to work within a collaborative team environment
  • Leadership, coaching, mentoring skills highly regarded
  • Ability to work across varying stakeholders on the go
  • Effective planning, organisational & workload prioritisation skills
  • Strong safety focus and commitment to WHS laws
  • Experience within varying industry sectors, plumbing and electrical preferred
  • Comfortable with wage rates, allowances and industrial instruments/awards
  • Experience as a Field Officer or Trade qualified highly regarded
