About the Role

Frontline Human Resources (FHR) is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our client's team on the afternoon shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded professional to work with industry-leading machinery and contribute to the ongoing success of a progressive manufacturing environment.

As the Maintenance Fitter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment, including offcoil and bending machines from well-known brands such as MEP, Schnell, and EVG. Your solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be essential in keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery.

  • Inspect, service, and optimise offcoil and bending machines to minimise downtime.

  • Work with brands including MEP, Schnell, and EVG (experience highly regarded).

  • Perform preventive maintenance and complete maintenance logs accurately.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.

  • Adhere to all safety and compliance standards in the workshop and on the floor.

  • Assist and mentor junior maintenance staff where required.

  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Maintenance Fitter or similar trade background.

  • Proven experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Hands-on experience with MEP, Schnell, and EVG equipment is a strong advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance planning.

  • Commitment to a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.

Day-to-Day

  • Start each shift with a team briefing to plan maintenance priorities.

  • Perform scheduled inspections and address any immediate breakdowns.

  • Liaise with operators to identify and resolve operational issues quickly.

  • Record maintenance activities and update maintenance systems in real-time.

  • Work closely with engineering and production to drive improvements.

  • Finish the day by reviewing completed tasks and planning for the next shift.
