Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to support an adult male participant in Mount Warren Park, QLD, who is living with a spinal cord injury. Our participant requires high-intensity care, including support with personal care, bowel care, transfers, domestic tasks, and community access.

Support is required 7-days per week. Current Available Shifts are outlined below.

  • Tuesdays 7:00am - 2:00pm
  • Thursdays 7:00am - 2:00pm
  • Fridays 7:00am - 2:00pm

Our participant is kind and friendly, with a great sense of humour. He enjoys soccer, gardening, outdoors, food/cooking & spending time with family.

Ongoing Part-time hours are available for suitable applicants. Successful candidates will also be provided with training.

Pay Rates:

  • Day shift $38.75 per hour
  • Saturday shift $54.25 per hour
  • Sunday shift $69.75 per hour
  • Public holidays $85.25 per hour

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assistance with Personal Care, such as personal hygiene, dressing, bathing & grooming.
  • Bowel Therapy support, including administering enemas and performing digital stimulation
  • Transfer and manual handling support (slide boards)
  • Completing and documenting skin integrity checks as part of pressure injury prevention.
  • Prompting medication in line with the care plan and medication safety protocols
  • Meal preparation
  • Assistance with domestic tasks including laundry, cleaning & general tidying
  • Assistance with home exercise programs
  • Support with community access and rehabilitation exercises
  • Helping establish structure, encourage independence, and promote safe engagement in day-to-day activities

Skills & Experiences:

  • Australian Driver Licence
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience as a support worker, or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Have excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference
