Our client, is one of Australia's leading independent electric motor repair specialists, providing expert repair, rewinding and refurbishment services for electric motors, generators and rotating electrical equipment.

With workshops located in Shepparton, Melbourne and Campbellfield, our client has built an outstanding reputation for quality workmanship, technical expertise and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Electric Motor Winder / Armature Winder to join their Campbellfield workshop.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business where your skills will be valued. Working in a modern workshop, you'll be responsible for the repair, rewinding and refurbishment of AC and DC rotating electrical equipment across a broad range of industrial applications.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing quality workmanship and enjoys working within a skilled and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip, inspect and assess electric motors and generators
  • Rewind AC stators and DC armatures
  • Manufacture replacement coils where required
  • Complete coil insertion, lacing, wedging and insulation work
  • Perform soldering, brazing and electrical connections
  • Repair and refurbish commutators and slip rings
  • Replace bearings, seals and other motor components
  • Conduct insulation resistance, winding resistance and surge testing
  • Read and interpret winding data and technical drawings
  • Prepare windings for varnishing and curing
  • Assemble motors following repair
  • Complete workshop documentation and quality records
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as an Electric Motor Winder or Armature Winder
  • Experience rewinding AC stators and/or DC armatures
  • A strong understanding of electric motor construction and repair techniques
  • The ability to read winding diagrams and technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence (preferred)
