Forklift Operator / Storeperson (Steel Industry)

The Role

FHR currently have multiple opportunities for an experienced Forklift Operator / Storeperson to join our client that specialises in the steel industry. This opportunity is located in Wetherill Park and we have immediate starts available for the candidates who're successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate LF forklifts to load and unload trucks, relocate steel products, reinforcing materials and other stock throughout the warehouse and yard, ensuring all goods are handled securely and efficiently.
  • Operate Mobicon and Gantry cranes to lift, move and position heavy steel products and materials, ensuring loads are correctly secured and moved in accordance with site safety procedures.
  • Pick, stage and prepare customer orders for dispatch, accurately identifying products, quantities and specifications while ensuring orders are securely positioned and ready for collection or delivery.
  • Receive incoming stock and deliveries, unloading materials and checking quantities, product specifications and condition against relevant documentation, reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Assist with stock control activities including RF scanning, stock movements, cycle counts and inventory checks, ensuring warehouse locations are accurately maintained and stock is readily available.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised warehouse and yard environment by following WHS procedures, completing daily equipment checks, adhering to safe manual handling practices and ensuring forklifts, cranes and other equipment are operated correctly.

Skills & Experience

  • LF/Forklfit ticket compulsory
  • Experience operating a gantry crane and mobicon highly desired
  • Experience working with building products, steel or metal
  • Physically fit or experience working in a physically demanding role
