Disability Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in Branxton, NSW. This role involves assisting a 16-year-old participant who sustained a traumatic brain injury due to an accident. She exhibits complex behaviours and requires mobility support. Additionally, the role includes providing assistance with personal care and daily living activities to ensure her overall well-being and independence.

Our participant requires support from Monday to Saturday.

This role is casual on-going and will involve a roster that includes:

• Monday - Friday, 1530-2130
• Saturday, 0930-1630

Pay rates:

• Day Shift - $40 p/h
• Saturday Shift - $56 p/h

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care, including showering, drying, dressing, and dental hygiene, etc.,
• Skilled in managing complex behaviours, including physical and verbal aggression
• Support with manual handling, transfers, and hoisting
• Help with domestic assistance such as cleaning, tidying, and cooking, etc.,
• Continence management
• Assistance in medication administration/medication prompting
• Assistance and driving to community access
• Assistance with rehabilitation exercises

Skills & Experiences:

• Previous experience supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries and complex behaviours
• Australian Drivers Licence and insured Vehicle is a MUST
• Current First Aid & CPR
• National Police Clearance
• NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module and Supporting Effective Communication Module
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Full Australian working rights
• Positive Attitudes and flexibility in shift times
