The Role

FHR currently have an opportunity for an experienced freight handler/piece checker to join our client that specialises in the automotive and trade parts industry. This opportunity is located in the Port of Brisbane and we an have immediate start available for the candidate who is successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Accurately count and verify individual items against picking slips, invoices, or system records.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in quantity, condition, or part numbers to supervisors or inventory control.
  • Inspect products for damage, defects, or quality issues before packaging or dispatch.
  • Label and tag items correctly to ensure traceability and efficient order processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of checked items using manual or digital tracking systems.
  • Work collaboratively with pickers, packers, and warehouse staff to meet daily targets and dispatch deadlines.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards and keep work areas clean and organised.

Skills, Licenses & Experience

  • Valid drivers license
  • Experience freight handling, pickping/packing, dispatch
  • Forklift ticket favourable but not required
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Physically fit or experience working in a physically demanding role
