General Manager – Operations

General Manager - Operations

Perth, Western Australia
State / Regional Responsibility
Logistics | Workforce-Intensive Operations

The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a commercially disciplined General Manager - Operations to take accountability for multi-site operational performance across Western Australia.

Reporting directly to the COO, this role carries state-level responsibility across a labour-intensive logistics operation where safety, workforce deployment, service reliability and cost control must align.

This is not a coordination role.
This is operational ownership.

You will lead site-based operational leaders, translate strategy into disciplined execution, and drive consistency and accountability across multiple locations.

The Mandate

You will be accountable for:

* End-to-end operational performance across the region
* Leadership of senior operational managers and frontline leadership layers
* Workforce planning, scheduling and labour utilisation outcomes
* Embedding operating rhythm, cadence and execution discipline
* Standardising scalable and practical operating practices
* Delivering safe, commercially responsible and predictable performance

You will maintain strong field presence - close enough to understand performance drivers, while contributing at an executive level.

Leadership & Culture

This is a people-led GM role.

You will:

* Coach and develop operational leaders
* Build succession depth and leadership capability
* Reinforce safety, values and behavioural standards
* Promote accountability and structured decision-making

We are seeking a leader who raises standards through clarity, consistency and visible presence.

Commercial & Governance Accountability

You will:

* Manage operational budgets and labour cost discipline
* Deliver against annual financial and operational targets
* Maintain strong executive-level customer relationships
* Identify operational risk early (workforce capability, fatigue, service pressure)
* Provide clear reporting and performance insight to the COO

This role requires sound commercial judgement, balancing cost, service, safety and operational stability.

What Success Looks Like

* Consistent and predictable operational performance
* Strengthened leadership capability across sites
* High service reliability and customer satisfaction
* Reduced reactive decision-making
* A structured operating environment positioned for sustainable growth

About You

You are a proven senior operations leader from a multi-site, labour-intensive environment such as:

Logistics | Supply Chain | Industrial Services | Warehousing | Transport | Large-Scale Service Operations

You bring:

* Experience leading operational managers across multiple sites
* Budget accountability and cost discipline
* A track record of performance uplift or operational stabilisation
* Strong field credibility and visible leadership presence
* Calm, structured decision-making under pressure

You are comfortable operating between executive discussions and frontline environments.

Why This Role

* State-level operational responsibility
* Direct reporting line to the COO
* Executive visibility and influence
* Opportunity to shape leadership capability and operational discipline
* Values-led organisation with clear growth ambition

Remuneration

$150,000 - $160,000 + Superannuation
