GTO Field Officer

Frontline Human Resources is looking for an experienced, people-focused Field Officer to join our growing Victorian Group Training Organisation (GTO) team.

This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the careers of apprentices while building strong relationships with host employers across a range of industries and projects.

As a Field Officer, you'll manage a portfolio of apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey - supporting their development, monitoring their progress and wellbeing, working closely with host employers, and ensuring training and compliance requirements remain on track.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and supporting a portfolio of apprentices across multiple host employers
• Conducting regular workplace and site visits with apprentices and supervisors
• Mentoring apprentices and supporting their development throughout their apprenticeship
• Building strong, professional relationships with existing host employers
• Working with host employers to identify workforce requirements and placement opportunities
• Monitoring apprentice performance, attendance, conduct and workplace progress
• Supporting apprentices through workplace challenges and proactively addressing issues before they escalate
• Coordinating apprentice placements, transfers, returns and host movements
• Monitoring trade school attendance, training progress, profiling and apprenticeship milestones
• Working closely with RTOs, employers and other stakeholders to keep apprentices progressing toward completion
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring GTO compliance requirements are met
• Supporting workplace health and safety requirements and escalating concerns where required
• Working collaboratively with our recruitment, administration, payroll and operational teams
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of Frontline's apprenticeship and GTO operations

About you

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and can build credibility with everyone from a first-year apprentice through to site supervisors, project managers and business owners.

You will ideally have:

• Experience within apprenticeships, Group Training, recruitment, workforce management, employment services or a similar field-based role
• Strong relationship management and communication skills
• The ability to mentor, coach and support young people in the workplace
• Confidence dealing with employers and resolving workplace issues
• Strong organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to manage a busy portfolio and competing priorities
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• Strong attention to compliance, documentation and follow-up
• The ability to work autonomously while remaining part of a broader operational team
• A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to host employer sites across Melbourne and surrounding areas

Previous GTO, apprenticeship or vocational education experience will be highly regarded, but equally important is your ability to build relationships, take ownership and provide a high level of support to both apprentices and clients.
