Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

The Role

FHR currently have an opportunity for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our client that specialises in the bus and coach body manufacturing industry. This opportunity is located in Ingleburn (Sydney, NSW) and we have immediate starts available for the candidate who is successful in their application for this position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on buses and heavy vehicles to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and roadworthy.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across braking, steering, suspension, driveline and other heavy vehicle systems.
  • Conduct inspections, testing and fault-finding to identify issues and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
  • Carry out component replacements, overhauls and adjustments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures.
  • Complete pre-delivery, warranty and repair work on buses, ensuring all vehicles meet required quality, safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate with workshop supervisors and team members to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes.

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience working with heavy vehicles
  • Experience working with buses (preferred not essential)
  • Copies of all certificates and qualifications
  • Physically fit or experience working in a physically demanding role
  • Able to complete and pass a Drug and Alcohol test
