Maintenance Fitter

The Role

FHR currently have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client located in Wacol. We have immediate starts available for the candidate who is successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative & Corrective Maintenance
  Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on cut-and-bend machinery, welding systems, conveyors, presses, and ancillary plant to maximise equipment availability and production uptime.

• Mechanical Diagnostics & Repairs
  Conduct advanced fault-finding and repairs across mechanical systems including gearboxes, bearings, chain and belt drives, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, shafts, and rotating equipment.

• Plant Installation & Modifications
  Support installation, alignment, commissioning, and modification of production machinery and plant upgrades in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and OEM standards.

• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems Maintenance
  Inspect, service, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, compressors, and air lines to ensure safe and reliable operation.

• Safety, Compliance & Risk Control
  Execute maintenance activities in strict accordance with WHS legislation, site safety procedures, isolation and lock-out/tag-out requirements, SWMS, and permit-to-work systems.

• Maintenance Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  Complete detailed maintenance records, fault reports, and work orders using a CMMS, while contributing to root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Maintenance Fitter role is essential
• Relevant qualifications (extra tickets are a bonus)
• Physically fit or experience working in a physically demanding role
