Our client is a leading voice for Australia's unwanted, stray and lost animals. They advocate for responsible pet ownership and fair animal laws, while providing crucial welfare services and community programs. Their facilities offer care and support to countless animals in need.

the opportunity
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Support professional for an ongoing casual role in Cranbourne. You'll play a key part in keeping shelter grounds and facilities safe, functional and well-maintained, with a focus on gardening, repairs, and general upkeep across staff and animal areas.

This is a hands-on role that directly supports the health, safety and wellbeing of the animals, staff, volunteers and visitors.

what's on offer

  • Casual position, Tuesday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Pay: $35.00 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)

key duties

grounds and gardening

  • Maintain lawns, garden beds and outdoor areas (mowing, weeding, pruning, watering)
  • Keep paths and entrances clear and presentable
  • Remove green waste and general rubbish
  • Maintain outdoor enrichment and animal exercise areas

maintenance and repairs

  • Perform minor repairs to fixtures, gates, fittings and kennels
  • Assist with small maintenance projects around the facility
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of paths, outdoor spaces and storage areas

safety and compliance

  • Follow WHS procedures and report hazards
  • Safely use and maintain tools and equipment
  • Support Safety and Facilities team with inspections and projects

desirable

  • Previous experience in a trade, handyman or maintenance role
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 20kgs
