Frontline HR is currently seeking an experienced 2IC - Warehouse & Logistics to join a well-established and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, supporting warehouse operations, and remaining hands-on in a varied role.
Working within a small warehouse team, you'll assist with the day-to-day running of the warehouse while also heading out on the road to support delivery operations when required. About the Role
As the 2IC, you'll work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the warehouse and logistics function. No two days are the same, with duties ranging from inventory control and dispatch through to assisting drivers with home deliveries.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Occasional overtime may be available depending on operational requirements (not usually required).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of warehouse operations.
- Support the Warehouse Manager with team coordination and workflow planning.
- Coordinate deliveries, dispatch and transport schedules.
- Manage inventory control, stock movements and stock accuracy.
- Operate forklifts for loading, unloading and stock movements.
- Sort freight into metro delivery zones.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Travel with delivery drivers to assist with residential deliveries when required.
- Deliver furniture and freight into customers' homes, including upstairs rooms where required.
- Maintain accurate logistics documentation and inventory records.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport providers.
- Ensure compliance with WHS policies and safe manual handling practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience in a Team Leader, Leading Hand or 2IC role (highly regarded).
- Current Forklift Licence (essential).
- Certificate III in Logistics, Warehousing or similar (desirable).
- Procurement or inventory management experience (advantageous).
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on attitude with the ability to lead by example.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
- The ability to perform heavy manual lifting and two-person lifts safely.
- A customer-focused approach and willingness to assist with in-home deliveries.
