The Role

FHR currently have multiple opportunities for an experienced Boilermaker / Fabricator / Welder to join our client that specialises in the heavy vehicle industry. This opportunity is located in Eagle Farm (Brisbane) and we have immediate starts available for the candidates who're successful in their application for these positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, fit and weld bus chassis components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform MIG welding, grinding, cutting and metal fabrication tasks to assemble and strengthen chassis structures.
  • Measure, mark and align chassis components to ensure accurate fit-up and dimensional compliance.
  • Conduct inspections of completed welds and fabricated sections, identifying and rectifying defects as required.
  • Safely operate fabrication equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery while adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to meet manufacturing schedules, quality requirements and continuous improvement objectives.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Previous experience with heavy vehicles essential
  • Confident using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Willing to undergo and pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following company procedures
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to work
  • Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance and performance
  • Ability to provide two recent, contactable work referees to confirm employment history
