Communications Technician - Fibre Splicer
Responsibilities:
- Fiber Splicing:
- Perform precise splicing of fiber optic cables to ensure optimal signal strength and quality.
- Utilise various splicing techniques and equipment, adhering to industry standards.
- Terminating Cables:
- Terminate fiber optic cables with connectors, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
- Test terminated cables for functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Testing Fiber Optics:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of spliced and terminated cables using testing equipment.
- Document test results and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing.
- Internal/External Cable Hauling:
- Safely haul and install cables in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ensure that all installations comply with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Provide support and training to junior technicians as needed.
Note:
The contractor has secured a defence contract and is looking for multiple splicers.
