Communications Technician - Fibre Splicer

Responsibilities:

• Fiber Splicing:
• Perform precise splicing of fiber optic cables to ensure optimal signal strength and quality.
• Utilise various splicing techniques and equipment, adhering to industry standards.
• Terminating Cables:
• Terminate fiber optic cables with connectors, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
• Test terminated cables for functionality and compliance with specifications.
• Testing Fiber Optics:
• Conduct comprehensive testing of spliced and terminated cables using testing equipment.
• Document test results and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing.
• Internal/External Cable Hauling:
• Safely haul and install cables in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
• Ensure that all installations comply with safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
• Provide support and training to junior technicians as needed.

Note:

The contractor has secured a defence contract and is looking for multiple splicers.
