Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to partner with our Male participant based in Coffs Harbour, NSW. Our participant had a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and requires assistance with all aspects of daily life.

The current care plan in place requires 7 days a week support. The hours we require covering include:


Day shifts: 0700-0900

Afternoon shifts: 1900-2100

Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with Spinal Cord Injuries.


Pay Rates:

  • Day Shift - $38.75 p/h
  • Afternoon Shift - $42.63 p/h
  • Saturday Shift - $54.25 p/h
  • Sunday Shift - $69.75 p/h


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with bowel therapy and catheter care
  • Assistance with Personal care; washing, drying, dressing, grooming, toileting
  • Completing skin checks
  • Manual handling / Hoisting
  • Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
  • Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
  • Community access


Skills & Experiences:

  • Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
  • Experience with spinal cord injuries and catheter management
  • NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Module
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Australian Driver Licence
  • Current WWCC
  • Manual Handling Certificate
