Disability Support Worker

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to partner with our Male participant based in Boambee East, NSW. Our participant had a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and requires assistance with all aspects of daily life.
The current care plan in place requires 7 days a week support. The hours we require covering include:
Day shifts: 0800-1000
Afternoon shifts: 2000-2200
Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with Spinal Cord Injuries.
Pay Rates:
- Day - $40.00 per hour
- Afternoon - $44.00 per hour
- Saturday - $56.00 per hour
- Sunday - $72.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with bowel therapy and catheter care
- Assistance with Personal care; washing, drying, dressing, grooming, toileting
- Completing skin checks
- Manual handling / Hoisting
- Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
- Community access
Skills & Experiences:
- Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
- Experience with spinal cord injuries and catheter management
- Experience with challenging behaviour
- NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Module
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver Licence
- Current WWCC
- Manual Handling Certificate
