Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

We are currently looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team to assist our participant in Berry, NSW. Our participant is in his 50s with Traumatic Brain Injury and requires assistance in daily living. He lives with his wife and enjoys cooking.

Our participant requires support Monday to Friday from 0830-1430.

This role is casual on-going and flexibility with the working hours is desirable.

Pay rates:

• Day Shift - $40 p/h
• Afternoon Shift - $44 p/h
• Public Holiday - $88 p/h
• Travel Allowance - $0.99 per KM travelled

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care, showering, drying, dressing, dental care, etc.,
• Assistance with community access such as taking him to pottery, going shopping, for a walk, going to gym and swimming etc.,
• Domestic assistance which includes cleaning, general tidying, cooking, meal prepping etc.,
• Assistance with medication administration.

Skills & Experiences:

• Prior experience working with people who have complex care needs
• NSW Valid driver's license and an insured vehicle is a MUST
• Current First Aid & CPR
• National Police Clearance
• NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module and Supporting Effective Communication Module
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Full Australian working rights
• Positive Attitudes and flexibility in shift times
• Administering Medication Training Certificate
