Disability Support Worker

The Role: We are seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist a 29-year-old male participant in Birtinya, QLD, who sustained a spinal cord injury post a workplace accident. Our participant loves the outdoors, fishing, art and spending time with family and friends. He enjoys having meaningful conversations and getting out in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Prompting
  • Companionship & Capacity Building
  • Assistance with domestic tasks, including cleaning & meal preparation
  • Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
  • Medication Prompting
  • Transportation: community access, health-related appointments, etc.

Roster: Weekly.

  • Monday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
  • Wednesday: 12:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Thursday: 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

Compensation:

  • Day Shift: $38.75 per hour
  • Travel Allowance: $0.99 per km (for medical-related travel)

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Valid Australian Driver's License
  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Current Police Clearance
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Current Blue Card
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Completion of NDIS Support Effective Communication Module
  • Third Party Compulsory Insurance
  • Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
