Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
We are currently seeking Disability Support Workers to support a 16-year-old participant in Morayfield, QLD, who recently sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) following a motor vehicle accident. Support is required 7 days a week for approximately 10 hours per day, with start and finish times to be confirmed.
This role focuses on prompting and supervision across daily routines, including personal care, community access, assistance with rehab exercises, meal preparation, mobility, communication and domestic tasks such as cleaning. Support workers will assist with building structure, encouraging independence, and helping the participant engage safely in daily tasks and activities.
The participant loves his fishing and going to the gym, with goals to improve strength and mobility through exercise and community involvement. Part-time and full-time hours are available for the right applicants, with flexibility to suit your availability.
Pay Rates:
- Day shift $38.75 per hour
- Afternoon shift $42.62 per hour
- Saturday shift $54.25 per hour
- Sunday shift $69.75 per hour
- $0.99 travel allowance per km (applies only when travelling with participant to and from appointments.
Skills & Experiences:
- Australian Driver Licence
- Current National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a support worker, or relevant experience in a similar role
- Have excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference
